Kontaktimprovisation ist eine improvisierte Form. Sie findet zwischen den Tänzer*innen statt, nicht innerhalb eines Körpers. Unterricht ist daher immer nur eine Art „Vorbereitung für Kontaktimprovisation“, in welchem ein Rahmen zur Verfügung gestellt wird und verschiedene Zugangswege aufgezeigt werden (Danke an Colleen Bartley für diesen Gedanken!). Diese Wege zu erkunden obliegt den Teilnehmer*innen. Idealerweise kann sich, wenn zwei es gleichzeitig tun und sich ganz darauf einlassen, Kontaktimprovisation ereignen.

Contact Improvisation is an improvised form. It takes place between the dancers, not within one body. Classes are therefore always just a kind of „preparation for contact improvisation“ in which a framework is provided and different ways of access are explored (thanks to Colleen Bartley for this thought!). It is up to the participants* to investigate these paths. Ideally, when two do it at the same time and fully engage in it, contact improvisation can happen.
